Our African Volunteer Internship Programme gives young professionals the chance to live and work within vibrant local communities, applying their skills to real projects that support tourism, culture, and entrepreneurship. Over 3–6 months, participants gain practical experience, cultural fluency, and personal growth while leaving behind a lasting impact on the businesses and people they serve.
Participants stay with local host families or community-run accommodations. They join local events, storytelling nights, music sessions, and heritage tours.
Africa Volunteer Internship Programme
A 3–6 month working holiday or placement where young volunteers contribute their skills to build and uplift small rural businesses within Africa’s local tourism sector — while gaining hands-on experience, cultural fluency, and a deeper understanding of sustainable development.
Placement at Iconic & Emerging Cultural Hubs
- Example: Vilakazi Street, Soweto, birthplace of African activism and culture.
- Volunteers live and work alongside local entrepreneurs, artists, guides, and homestay hosts.
Skills-for-Impact Projects
Volunteers apply their studies or professional skills to real-world challenges:
- Digital marketing for small guesthouses and restaurants.
- Social media and storytelling for local craftspeople.
- Business planning for township tour guides and community NPCs.
- Eco-tourism design and sustainability initiatives.
Learning & Certification
- Weekly workshops on African culture, ethical tourism, and community leadership.
- Receive a completion certificate and references to boost CV and global employability.
Support & Mentoring
- Onboarding, local placement support, and dedicated mentors.
